你知道吗？3月21日是世界唐氏综合征日。这个节日是为了确保我们可以和大家一样获得机会，自由地生活。因为我们的细胞里有3条21号染色体，所以世界唐氏综合征日，就被定在了3月21日。

Down syndrome International first laughed the global Website in 2006.In 2011,Down syndrome International asked Brazil to propose that the date become part of the United Nations calendar.Now on 21st March each year,Down syndrome International calls everyone to action with a theme to ensure the human right of people with Down syndrome,holds events at the largest United Nations office in New York.United States and Geneva Switzerland,Work with its members to organise worldwide activities and discussion.Every year,more and more people take action on the day including People with Down syndrome、families friends and supporters、Schools companies and clivil society organisation、governments and communities.

2006年，国际唐氏综合征组织建起了官方网站，2011年，国际唐氏综合征组织通过巴西向联合国提出要求把这一天设立为世界唐氏综合征日。每年的3月21日，国际唐氏综合征组织都会在联合国纽约总部，日内瓦办事处等地方和合作伙伴一起讨论，在全世界举办活动，号召大家行动起来，保障唐氏综合征人士的权利。如今，世界唐氏综合征日受到了越来越多人关注，我们自己，我们的家人朋友，政府和社区、学校、企业和社会组织，还有许多支持唐氏综合征群体的人，都行动了起来。

什么是唐氏综合征？

唐氏综合征是一种自然发生的染色体组合现象，存在于世界各地，发生在所有群体当中。据联合国统计：目前世界上的唐氏综合征人士有超过600万。全球平均每1000名新生儿当中就有一名唐氏综合征人士。唐氏综合征会对学习方式、体态特征和健康带来不同程度的影响。只要通过适当的支持和指导，唐氏综合征人士可以独立生活，融入社会，发挥自己的潜能。

国际唐氏综合征组织

潘妮•罗伯逊原本是一位地质学家，因为唐氏综合征女儿的降生开始积极关注和倡导唐氏综合征人士的权益。1993年与其他伙伴合作创立了慈善机构“国际唐氏综合征组织”。国际唐氏综合征组织于2006首次受到来自官方的关注，2006年至2010年，新加坡唐氏综合症协会代表DSI推出并主持了WDSD网站，以记录全球活动。
